IMPLANTABLE CONTACT LENS (ICL) PROCEDURE
The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure and takes about 15 minutes. The lens is inserted through a very small opening at the edge of the cornea and placed behind the iris and in front of the natural (crystalline) lens. The wound heals on its own without stitches, and visual recovery is fairly rapid. The patient can return to normal activities within a few days of the procedure.
