LASIK BASIC TEST

The LASIK Basic Test is the first step to determine if you're suitable for laser eye surgery or other laser vision correction options. The basic test will take around 1–2 hours.

REGISTRATION

Upon arriving at LSC Eye Clinic, complete the patient registration form with your particulars, medical history, and drug allergies (if any). This helps our team prepare for your potential LASIK eye treatment.

EYE TESTS

Auto-refraction (measures your prescription)
Tonometry (measures your eye pressure)
Corneal thickness
Subjective Refraction (to find your best corrected visual acuity)

These are essential steps in determining whether you are a candidate for LASIK laser eye surgery or other options like ZEISS SMILE^® pro 2.0.

PRE-LASIK COUNSELLING

You will have a personalised 1-on-1 counselling session with our Senior Optometrist to explore the procedures available to you, including LASIK for astigmatism or short-sightedness, and to discuss post-surgery expectations such as recovery and visual outcomes.

PAYMENT

Make a payment of S$54.50 (inclusive of 9% GST) for the LASIK Basic Test. This is a small investment to help determine if laser eye surgery is the right choice for you.

DILATION

Dilating eye drops will be applied to examine the back of your eyes and rule out conditions like glaucoma or retinal detachment. This is a crucial part of your laser vision correction assessment.

Your near vision will be blurry, and your eyes will be sensitive to sunlight for 6–8 hours (some patients may experience it longer). Please bring sunglasses and avoid driving.

FINAL EYE TEST

Once your pupils are dilated, you’ll undergo:

Auto-refraction (again)
Subjective refraction (again)

These repeated tests help ensure accurate prescription values before confirming your LASIK laser eye surgery plan.

DOCTOR CONSULTATION

The doctor will review all test results, check your eye health, and discuss the most suitable LASIK or laser eye treatment options tailored to your eyes and lifestyle.

Whether you’re exploring LASIK eye surgery cost, laser eye surgery for astigmatism, or advanced procedures like wavefront-guided LASIK, our doctor will help you make an informed decision.

The complete eye assessment fee of S$218 will be absorbed if you proceed with surgery.

SURGERY APPOINTMENT

If you’re ready, the nurse will help you book your surgery slot and explain the pre-op instructions, including what to avoid before your laser operation for eyes.

THINGS TO NOTE

👁️ Before your LASIK Basic Test, please avoid wearing:

Soft contact lenses for 3 days

Hard contact lenses for 14 days

Coloured contact lenses for 7 days

We recommend using your glasses during this period. You may resume your contacts after the test if you're not proceeding with laser eye surgery consultation right away.
